Community Update: July 2026 Events in Scarborough North

Dear Friends and Neighbours,

Summer has officially arrived, and we couldn't be more excited to kick things off with our first full month of warm-weather community events for 2026!

You should already have your printed Summer 2026 newsletter in hand (or on its way to your mailbox) with the event details, but we didn't want you to miss what's coming up right now in July.

After a spring full of compost days and community clean-ups, it's time to get outside, connect with neighbours, and enjoy everything our parks have to offer.

Here's what's on the calendar:

Malvern Mid-Summer Fete

Tuesday, July 14, 2026 | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Cynthia Lai Park, 1051 Progress Ave

We're partnering with the Scarborough Farmers' Market to turn market day into a full neighbourhood celebration! As the market winds down at 6 PM, the music turns up with a live groovy DJ set from Henry's Records, plus free ice cream, cultural performances, and a crafty kids' corner with Scarborough Zero Waste.

Bring your lawn chairs, your kids, and your summer spirit; everyone is welcome!

Councillor Myers Summer Movie Night

Wednesday, July 15, 2026 | 6:00 PM (games & refreshments) | 7:30 PM (movie)
Alexmuir Park & St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Catholic School

Join me for an evening of fun and games in Alexmuir Park, followed by a free screening of Karate Kid: Legends indoors at the school gym. Bring a blanket or chair to grab a cozy spot; washrooms and indoor screening access are available. Space is limited, so come early!

Councillor Myers Scarborough North Summer BBQ

Thursday, July 23, 2026 | 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Milliken District Park, 5555 Steeles Ave. E

Free entry and free food, live DJ and music performances, and family fun with special guests including the Toronto Zoo, Toronto Public Library, and other community partners. A perfect way to spend a summer evening with your community!

We're looking forward to hosting all three of these events for you and your family this month. It's shaping up to be a wonderful summer of connection, culture, and community — and this is just the start.

See you in the park!

Warm regards,

Jamaal Myers
