I Believe in Scarborough.

I'm a Scarborough kid, born and raised. Toronto is my city. Scarborough is my home.

For too long, we've been ignored by City Hall. No more. Scarborough needs city councillors that aren't rubber stamps for the status quo but are fighters for our community. I believe that Scarborough thrives when we lift up the voices of the people who make our community great. Thank you for entrusting me with our community.

As your City Councillor, I strive to live up to your expectations and fight for the Scarborough I know you believe in too.

After finishing my studies, I worked as a senior lawyer for TD Bank. I dedicated my free time to building coalitions and advocating for our community, working alongside residents and community groups to improve access to healthcare, transit, affordable housing, and good jobs.

Prior to being elected to City Council, I had the privilege of sitting on the Board of the Scarborough Business Association, acting as Vice Chair of TAIBU Community Health Centre, and serving on the Community Police Liason Committee for 42 Division.

Like so many of us, my family came to Canada for a better life. I was born in Scarborough and raised in a loving home by my mom, who worked multiple jobs to support my brother and me. We lived in public housing and sometimes relied on local food banks and public assistance to get by. Yet, we never lacked for opportunities. Because we had access to safe and affordable housing, reliable transit and great schools, my outstanding teachers helped me to understand that it didn't matter where I came from; all that mattered was where I was going.

I took their message to heart. With the love of my extended family, community members and teachers, as well as support from scholarships, loans and summer jobs, including three summers spent cleaning trains for the TTC, I earned degrees at the University of Western Ontario, the London School of Economics and New York University School of Law.
